As Asia’s biggest travel hub and the most visited city in the world, Bangkok has also established itself as a major destination for medical tourism. The city’s world-renowned hospitals provide excellent care at a very reasonable cost, as do inpatient and outpatient clinics that provide addiction and mental health services to expats and international clients.

For a city its size, visitors may be surprised to learn that there are relatively few options for rehab in Bangkok. Inpatient treatment is scarce in the city, and the setting is also less relaxing than in other parts of Thailand, such as Chiang Mai or Phuket. Outpatient treatment is available, yet the experience of receiving counselling and support at such rehab centres in Bangkok is less comprehensive and specialised than can be found outside the city.
